Iramusu, Sri Lanka's cooling root

Last updated: May 2026

Sarsaparilla, known in Sinhala as Iramusu (Hemidesmus indicus), is a root that traditional Sri Lankan medicine has used for generations as a body coolant and blood purifier. Each capsule holds 500mg of pure Iramusu powder, with 60 capsules per bottle.

What it traditionally supports

  • A cooling effect during hot weather and after spicy food.
  • Clear, healthy skin.
  • Kidney and urinary comfort.
  • Everyday antioxidant support.

How to take it

Take 1 capsule with a meal, up to 2 capsules a day. If you are on prescription medicine, speak with your doctor before starting.

Frequently asked questions

What does Iramusu taste like on its own?

The raw root is earthy and slightly sweet. The capsule skips the taste entirely.
